 Hemet considers new law for shopping carts
Hemet officials are considering a new ordinance aimed at keeping grocery carts in the parking lots of stores.
 Woman hit multiple times, killed near Hemet
A woman was struck by multiple vehicles and killed Monday night just west of Hemet. The woman was standing in the westbound lane of Florida Avenue just west of Calvert Avenueabout 8:40 p.m. when she was first struck, California Highway Patrol Officer Daryl Crandall said. She was identified later Tuesday as Cheryl L. Toth, 44, according to the Riverside County coroner's office.
 Hemet police recommend online crime reports
Hemet police are offering citizens an easy way to improve officer performance without spending more money. Instead of calling the police to report past crimes or crimes without a suspect identified, police administrators are asking that citizens file their reports online.
 Sen. Emmerson to hold office hours in Beaumont
State Sen. Bill Emmerson, R-Hemet, has announced office hours will be held at the Beaumont City Hall on the first Thursday of every month from 9 a.m. to noon to provide constituents with the opportunity to discuss state issues or relate a problem they may have with a state agency.
